Entry requirements

Applicants will normally possess a degree in medicine or a minimum of a second-class honours degree in a science degree in a relevant subject.

  • For medical graduates, at least one year’s clinical experience is required, preferably with some surgical training.
  • For non-medical graduates, at least one year’s experience in an area related to surgery or surgical equipment and technology is required, for example design or manufacture of surgical equipment or design of surgical technical software etc.
  • Basic computing experience, access to an off-campus computer and an internet-capable PC

Overseas Students

All candidates should ensure that they are able to meet the particular attendance requirements of the course. In addition, overseas candidates should note that, since this is a part-time course, they will not be eligible for a student visa or student concessions. Applicants will be advised on their particular circumstances as part of the admissions process.
