Mapping Educational Activity in Surgical Environments

This project brings together clinical and non-clinical researchers to map the operating theatre (OT) as a multi-professional site of teaching and learning. The perspectives of clinical and social science provide complementary lenses through which to examine surgical practice. Alongside the observation and analysis of educational activities, high fidelity simulation is used to distil key elements of clinical pedagogy for faculty development.
