Biosurgery and Surgical Technology

The Department of Biosurgery & Surgical Technology (BSST) at Imperial College has research strengths in:

application of new technology

clinical effectiveness

The research carried out is driven by interdisciplinary working enabling themes of best surgical practice, clinical safety and education, and the application of science and technology to issues directly affecting patient care.

Several different interlinking research groups constitute BSST and these groups include surgical technology, surgical education, safety and quality and surgical epidemiology.
