Division of Surgery

Led by Professor Darzi, the Division of Surgery was formed at the start of the 2009-2010 academic year.

The Division encompasses three sections:

• Biosurgery & Surgical Technology
• Biomolecular Medicine
• Anaesthetics, Intensive Care & Pain Medicine

Working within the Imperial Academic Health Science Centre, our focus is to provide high quality research that can be translated to improve patient care. Building on a framework designed to improve personalised healthcare, the Division of Surgery is leading the way with our dedicated team and expertise in basic science, surgical technologies, and patient safety and quality research themes.

Underpinning this is our education programme, from undergraduate to postgraduate to surgical trainees; our aim is to provide students with the clinical and academic skills needed to make a difference within healthcare.
