A guide to the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, containing an overview of the new school, can be accessed below.

On 31 August 2010 the College announced that Imperial would be delivering a course overseas for the first time in a brand new medical school in Singapore.

In partnership with Nanyang Technological University (NTU), who will be funding the new medical school, the College will be working to develop and deliver a curriculum for a new undergraduate medicine course.

Students of the new school will be based on the NTU campus for the first part of the course but throughout their training will be taught in a variety of settings to gain insight into different healthcare models. These will include working alongside GPs in primary care and benefitting from clinical experience in local hospitals.

The first students – the majority of whom will be Singaporean – will be admitted to the school in August 2013. In time annual recruitment will rise to 150 new students and, at full capacity, there will be over 750 students studying on the five-year undergraduate medicine course.

A Project Board, which comprises senior academics and administrators from the College and the Faculty of Medicine, has been established to deliver the objectives of the new school. Professor Martyn Partridge, Chair in Respiratory Medicine, will be responsible for all aspects of the new medical school that the College has committed to deliver - he will work on the project full-time in the UK and Singapore.
