In addition to the educational half day sessions there are courses that ACFs are required or encouraged to attend.
The Graduate School
ACFs at imperial are Associate Members of the Graduate School and are required to attend three of the Transferable Skills courses, and are encouraged to attend more.
Educational Development Unit (EDU)
The EDU runs a number of workshops that are designed and tailored specifically for those teaching medicine to Imperial students.

MRes Translational Medicine
Imperial College is now offering its innovative Master of Research (MRes) in Translational Medicine to all ACFs at Imperial, who can enrol on a part-time or full-time basis. The aim is to equip students with an understanding of the tools available for experimental medicine. Knowing the opportunities and limitations of the technology, students will understand how it can be deployed to address a clinical question in a clinical research protocol. The course is suitable for all medical disciplines, but of particular interest to Cardiovascular/Respiratory, Neuroscience, and Oncology/Metabolic medicine. The course is comprised of a research phase during which students undertake two complementary projects and of four taught modules. Each module is delivered through one week of intensive teaching at the beginning of autumn and winter terms.

PhD Programmes at Imperial College
Wellcome Trust Clinical PhD Programme
The Wellcome Trust has funded Imperial College for 5 Clinical PhDs per year for 6 years commencing from 2008.
The programme has a single intake of 5 clinical research training fellows in October each year. The Wellcome Trust’s Clinical PhD Programmes are aimed at supporting the most promising medically qualified clinicians who wish to undertake rigorous research training.
Wellcome Trust – GlaxoSmithKline Translational Medicine Training (TMT) Fellowship Programme
The TMT Fellowship Programme is designed to train the next generation of clinician scientists in Experimental Medicine. A central theme is the application of the new tools of clinical investigation, particularly clinical imaging, to the evaluation of novel medical interventions in humans.
Imperial College London will host up to 4 new Clinical PhD Fellowships per year funded jointly by the Wellcome Trust and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).

Chain-Florey Clinical Research Fellowships
The Chain-Florey Clinical Research Fellowships are for medical graduates whose chosen career path is that of an academic clinician. Emphasis is placed on the development of well-rounded researchers with backgrounds that are equally strong in both clinical research and basic science.
The scheme currently recruits three fellows each year. These fellowships are jointly funded by the MRC Clinical Sciences Centre at Imperial College London and the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre at Imperial College NHS Trust.
