Basic Science Laboratories

Research Training in Basic Science Laboratories:
The Faculty of Medicine is keen to increase its research activity in basic science. Academic and Clinical Trainees are encouraged to gain early experience of research in basic science laboratories.
Importantly, this could lead to applications for Clinical Research Training Fellowships to pursue a PhD in these laboratories.
The NIHR Integrated Academic Training Pathway is only one route to a research career, other clinical trainees are encouraged to consider these opportunities.
The Clinical Sciences Centre has laboratories with opportunities; details of the laboratories can be found here.
Other laboratories with opportunities are listed below. Please do contact them and arrange a visit to discuss opportunities.
