MSc Infection Management for Pharmacists - Overview and Structure

Overview of the courses

Each of the courses below are 8 month part-time courses organised by the Department of Infectious Diseases, which falls within the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The course will be primarily based at the Hammersmith Campus of Imperial College.

Each module will predominantly be delivered in the format of interactive lectures. It is important to note that each module will be taught in an intensive one week teaching week. In addition to this, as part of the course work you will undertake self-reflective learning exercises on what you have been taught. The resulting portfolio will constitute part of the continuous assessment element of the course, along with class participation and presentations.

Assessment will take the form of examinations and continuous assessment. Each module will have a 1 hour written examination and a piece of coursework which are combined to assess the module. Successful completion of each module requires a mark of 50% in both the written examination and the coursework.

By the end of the course we expect students to have reached a basic level of competence in Infection Management and generic research skills.  For a full list of the competences, please see IMP Competence Standards PDF Acrobat Document
