Genetic factors in alcoholism

The group are collaborating with MRC Harwell in the identification of genetic factors influencing the development of alcoholism using chemical mutagenesis and micro-satellite linkage in model systems. Five models exhibiting an inheritable alcohol preference have been identified and the linkage in two has been partially mapped.
