Dr Tanika K Kelay
Dr Tanika Kelay joined CPSSQ in July 2011. With a disciplinary background in psychology, her research portfolio is linked with the field of risk, involving principles of organisational risk management, risk assessment, through to risk perception and developing recommendations for effective risk communication. Since gaining her PhD she has applied these principles within various contexts, in order to develop novel tools to assess and evaluate knowledge structures; facilitate knowledge exchange; and integrate knowledge systems.
Having previously worked on a range of multidisciplinary projects funded by the ESRC, NERC and the European Union, Tanika is currently working on a large-scale interdisciplinary EPSRC funded project. The project aims to optimise myocardial infarction (MI) and stroke care pathways using information based techniques. Key components involve a) assessing and evaluating clinician-based perspectives about current approaches to information transfer and communication; and b) evaluating how physical simulation techniques may be used to aid the implementation of health-based information systems.
