Professor Justin Cobb
Musculoskeletal Surgery
Our laboratory has three themes:
- Three dimensional analysis of the musculoskeletal system in health and disease. the investigators
use computer modelling of the bones and joints in healthy and arthritic subjects to predict which
will fail and why. - Robot assisted minimally invasive joint surgery. the investigators develop surgical techniques
using robotic assistants to enable more precise and more conservative operations - Outcome measures based upon gait laboratary analysis and web based individualised scoring
systems. investigators use the technology to measure the impact of interventions in health
economic terms.
We collaborate closely with mechanical engineering, with students co-supervised investigating
joint stability and function, and novel device design and testing.
